| When space and time permit, registered Welsh and Half Welsh ponies are accepted for training and/or consignment sale. I provide the same well-rounded education to my training and sale ponies as I do to my own. They become accustomed to being tied to the horse trailer, standing in the cross ties and wash stall, clippers, vacuum, vet, farrier and all other normal barn activities. Ponies that I start under saddle begin their training on the lunge line in the bitting rig. When they can maintain consistency at all three gaits on the lunge line, I move them to the long lines. During their ground driving sessions, the ponies learn how to turn, bend, stop and stand. When these lessons are mastered, the ponies are finally mounted. Final touches are then put on the bending and turning and the finishing work begins...yielding to rein and legs aids, lengthening and shortening stride, staying on the bit, and transitions. Ponies over four years of age are started over fences. I closely follow the training philosophies of George Morris and Anne Kursinski to end up with athletic, supple, happy, willing ponies. "Ask for a lot, be happy with a little, and reward often." Not all ponies have the same abilities, but my goal for each one is to help him reach his full potential.
